Someone asked me for the "official" course map, and of course I've forgotten who it was. No secret anyway, so it's here:

Bob:

Sorry I missed this year's race; it looks like it only had two ferries - what a treat for a Punch Brook course!!

P.S. What software do you use to draw your maps?

I'm sure you would have liked it. Under 3 minutes for most of the faster boats, good eddies for the most part, and no critical places that were unavoidedly shallow. Because of the limited water, I had to follow a fairly restricted path, but it worked well. Lots of positive comments afterward.

I drew the map in a cheap CAD program: DesignCad. You can get older versions (V15.3 or 19 recommended) for not much money. The (almost) expensive part was converting to PDF, but I have Acrobat already.

Some day I'm going to convert the GPS data (of the shore and rocks) that I took a few years ago to a real scale drawing. What's currently illustrated is just a guess.

The course SternCam video (with some special stuff at the end) is now posted on YouTube here.

I believe that is my first cameo appearance (appearance of any kind in fact) on YouTube

I have e-mailed the results and imagine they will be posted to the NESS site whenever that happens.

Can hardly wait for next year!

Maryann,

Everybody deserves their 15 minutes of fame, so I owe you another 14 minutes and 55 seconds.
