Paddling for a Cure: The Alplaus Ladies Auxiliary is proud to present the 5th annual Paddling for a Cure event to raise money for our local chapter of the American Cancer Society. This money will go specifically for work related to fighting breast cancer.

On Sunday, July 18, 2010 paddlers will gather at the Capital Region Maritime Center on Maritime Drive in Alplaus. Most of them will have collected pledges, but many will simply make their own contribution. After launching, the paddlers will make their way downstream to the lovely "Lawrence Mansion" and back for a total paddling distance of about five miles (optional short course of 2.5 miles). When they return, prizes and refreshments will great them. A kayak will also be raffled off that day.

Paddlers of any ability are welcome to take part in this event. Registration begins at 8:00am. With the paddle to follow immediately after. $10.00 covers the cost of registration and insurance.
