Looking to paddle the Moisie River in Quebec in August and was wondering if anyone has done this trip recently from either the headwaters or from the Pekans River tributary. I have read so many different ways to handle logistics whether by train or own shuttle. Any suggestions? Thanks

Any new beta on Moisie River out there?

I am primarily looking for a shuttle service or driver that can take my SUV from the put-in on Pekans River to a parking area near the Sept-iles takeout. Any recommendations?

I have read about using the train to shuttle the vehicle from Labrador City down to Sept-Iles. But other than hitch hiking, what is the best way to get back from Labrador train station to Pekans put-in? Once the vehicle is in Sept-Iles, where is it kept? Relative costs? Any outfitters that can help?

I am thinking about late July or August 2018. Full two weeks on the river. Might take Aire super puma raft (narrow 13’) to run the rapids and instead of lining a canoe or portaging the small drops, to save some time.. Obviously I’d portage major falls and class 5. Anyone interested?

I ran the Moisie back in 2014 – went from Sept Iles to Lac Ashuanipi via the railroad – so not Pekans Moisie, but only Moisie.
I can’t help with the Pekans shuttle, but we parked our vehicle at the railroad parking lot – and it was fine 23 days later.
