Am I the only one that must login almost every day, in spite of checking the Remember me box? This seems to be one of only two sites that I visit that constantly requires a new login (and here it’s in spite of the “Hello Bob” in the upper right). I do use multiple computers though.
And – then it brings me to the member’s information page rather than the forum…

The login redirect to user’s profile is a feature so new users can view and edit the profile easily. That’s a nice thing to make using this website friendly for new users. For regulars here, the forums are just one further click away…. “click”.
I have never had a problem with this website requiring me to login on a daily basis. I use the “remember me” feature on the login form. Occasionally, as your user session or website cookie expires (about every 30 days), every user needs to re-login (you’ll find this on most, if not all, websites that require a login).
The remembered login status is controlled by a cookie on the user’s device. You can be logged in on more than one device. However, being logged in on one of your devices does not log you in on all of your devices.
If you use a cookie blocker, or force cookies to expire early, you can expect to have trouble both logging in and staying logged in.
I always use the latest version of my favorite web browser – Firefox. I recommend that you always keep your browsers up to date with the latest version for security reasons.
None of the above takes into consideration the phases of the moon or if the Universe is out to get you. Your milage may vary. 🙂
