level is starting to rise!
CNY gang; is anyone interested if it gets high enough to run?

min. 700 CFS, would like it to get to 800 or so to make it worth the trip.

Any local boaters know how quick this river rises in response to local rain? I’m not familiar with how large the drainage area is for the St. Regis.

I’m not sure what you are looking at that makes you think that this river is (was) close to running. The gauge I’m looking at says it peaked at 1.9 ft (about 340 cfs) on July 18. The river needs 2.5 ft. to be worth anything – and 3.0 ft. would be preferable.
Check out:

It is extremely rare that this river runs in the summer. It seems to come up often enough, but seems to peak at about 2.0 feet and head back down rather quickly – nowhere near high enough to be worth running.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I’m waiting for the fall. If it does come up, I’d always love to join in for a run.

not to repeat myself but…Any local (St. Regis area) boaters know how quick this river rises in response to local rain? I’m not familiar with how large the drainage area is for the St. Regis (as in how many streams empty into it).

But thanks for the info SAB, hopefully there will be plenty of opportunities to run this at a decent level in the Fall <img src=” class=”spSmiley” /> .
