It’s looking like I will be in Middlebury for a couple days during the week of March 12. Main reason is so my daughter can visit the college, but the family’s going to pack play gear, too. Is paddling an option that early in the season, or should we be packing ski gear?

I’d bring ski gear.

But there certainly are paddling options for dry suit and gloves. Sun angle is still low in March, so expect more shade than sun down in the creek bed. Chilly

Too early to tell if it will be good or still locked in. You can most likely park n huck otter creek falls in Middlebury. Otter creek has a class II-III short section just up rte 7 that may be a good option. New haven ledges are nearby as well.
