The Big Branch gauge is gone. The takeout bridge has been taken down and they are building a new one. The gauge was on the bridge abutment, so it’s gone.

I saw that last week during a low water run.. There is a triangle shape rock up stream that we used prior to the painted gauge on the old bridge abutmtent..
after the curtian rapid and after the swirlywirly’s on the right there is a triangular rock at the water level this rock has one long sloping side, the sloping side has 2 sort of notches on it those would indicate low and fluid levels. if rock was a pour over then it real fulid, 4ft on the bridge abutment.
Some of the Middlebury gang know of it, we call it Brian’s rock.
